Reflection (Thoughts & Processes)

I began devoting effort to recreating the same spotanaiety and texture I use with traditional mediums in my digital work, experimenting with different textures, templates, and brush packs, in particular.

Seeing as digital art mimics traditional art through programming, it is hard to recreate such effects given that every pixel is litrerally accounted for. I tried finding tools that play with (or break!) Krita’s color, mixing, and texture engines to create a digital equivalent. Most of these experiments were non-objective.

In August I returned to my old community college (from which I graduated in 2020 with an Associate's in Art) and enrolled in a studio practium course, studying under my previous professor with a concentration in figure drawing, with the goal of developing my abstract style to strengthen my figurative compositions.

In September, I retired my Huion Kamvas 13 and replaced it with a Huion Inspiroy H1060P; I vastly prefer the ergonomics of a pen tablet versus a display tablet.
